Disney made several key announcements during their most recent Investor Day presentation, introducing a plethora of exciting new projects across their various platforms. For fans of Star Wars, they announced the creation of multiple new series for Disney+, including “Ahsoka,” “Rangers of the New Republic,” and “The Acolyte.” Additionally, they revealed plans for a new Star Wars feature film titled “Rogue Squadron,” directed by Patty Jenkins.
For Marvel enthusiasts, Disney announced several new series for Disney+, such as “Secret Invasion,” “Ironheart,” and “Armor Wars.” They also confirmed that the third Ant-Man movie will be titled “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” and a Fantastic Four movie is in the works, directed by Jon Watts.
In terms of animation, Disney announced a series based on their popular movie “Moana,” a series based on the world of “Zootopia,” and a series titled “Tiana,” based on the main character from “The Princess and the Frog.” They also announced a new Pixar film titled “Turning Red,” and a Buzz Lightyear origin story movie with the voice of Chris Evans.
Additionally, Disney announced that they are increasing the price of Disney+ in the United States by one dollar, to $7.99 a month. They also introduced a new general entertainment content brand, Star, which will be included in the Disney+ offering in select markets, and separately in some.
These announcements reflect Disney’s continued investment in their direct-to-consumer platforms and their commitment to providing high-quality content across a variety of genres and formats.
