Setting your PowerPoint presentation to automatically start when you open it can be achieved by saving your file in PowerPoint Show (.ppsx) format. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to do it:
- Open the PowerPoint presentation that you want to set to auto-start.
- Click on the “File” tab located at the top-left corner of the PowerPoint interface.
- A drop-down menu will appear. Click on “Save As”.
- In the “Save As” dialogue box, navigate to the location where you want to save your file.
- Enter your preferred file name in the “File name” text box.
- Click on the “Save as type” drop-down list. A list of file types will appear.
- Select “PowerPoint Show (*.ppsx)”.
- Click “Save”.
By following these steps, your PowerPoint presentation will now open in slide show view automatically. Just double-click on the file, and it will start playing. This method is particularly useful if you’re sharing your presentation with someone who doesn’t have PowerPoint installed on their device since a .ppsx file can be viewed using the PowerPoint Viewer application.
Please note that the ability to edit the presentation is disabled in .ppsx format. If you need to make changes, you’ll have to do it in the original PowerPoint file (.pptx) and then save it as a PowerPoint Show again.
