Converting a PowerPoint presentation to InDesign format requires a few steps as there’s no direct way to achieve this. However, with the right approach, you can still get your PowerPoint content into an InDesign document.
Step 1: Export PowerPoint Slides as Images
First, save each PowerPoint slide as an image. To do this, go to “File” > “Save As” or “Save a Copy” > choose where you want to save the images > in the “Save as type” drop-down menu, select the image format you want (JPEG or PNG are usually good options).
Step 2: Import Images into InDesign
Once you’ve saved your slides as images, open InDesign and create a new document. To import the images, go to “File” > “Place”, locate the images you saved, and click “Open”. Then, click anywhere in the InDesign document to place the image. Repeat this step for every image.
Remember, while this method gets your content into InDesign, it won’t allow you to edit the text or other elements within the slide images. If you need to make changes to the content, you’ll need to do that in PowerPoint before exporting the slides as images.
