How can I access and use Pitchbook for my research at UCF?

Accessing and using Pitchbook for your research at the University of Central Florida (UCF) involves a few steps. First, you’ll need to have a valid UCF ID and password. If you don’t have these yet, please contact the UCF IT Help Desk. Once you have your UCF credentials, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the UCF Library’s website.
  2. Choose “Databases A-Z” from the “Find” dropdown menu at the top of the page.
  3. Locate and select “PitchBook” from the list of databases.
  4. You will be redirected to the login page where you’ll need to enter your UCF ID and password.
  5. After logging in, you’ll have access to Pitchbook’s comprehensive database for your research.

Pitchbook is a powerful research tool that provides data on the private and public equity markets, including venture capital, private equity, and M&A transactions. It allows you to create and export custom lists and reports, track specific companies or deals, and even research individual professionals in the industry.

When using Pitchbook, you can rely on its advanced search features to find the exact information you need. The main page has a search bar where you can input your desired keywords. You can also use the ‘Advanced Search’ feature to refine your search based on specific criteria.

Keep in mind that Pitchbook provides a wealth of information, so it’s essential to spend some time familiarizing yourself with the platform. If you have any issues or questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to your UCF Library’s help desk or Pitchbook’s customer support.
