Who is the creator of PowerPoint presentation software?

PowerPoint, a widely-used presentation software, was created by Robert Gaskins and Dennis Austin. They were engineers at Forethought, Inc., a software company based in Sunnyvale, California. The development of PowerPoint began in 1984 and the first version was launched on May 22, 1987, under the name “Presenter.” However, due to trademark issues, the name was later changed to PowerPoint.

Interestingly, Forethought, Inc. was acquired by Microsoft in 1987, just a few months after the release of PowerPoint. Since then, PowerPoint has been a part of the Microsoft Office Suite. Over the years, the software has gone through numerous updates and enhancements, making it an integral tool for creating presentations in various sectors, including business, academia, and more.

At SlideGenius, we harness the power of this versatile software to create compelling and impactful presentations for our clients. With our team of expert designers and writers, we are able to transform complex data and information into visually engaging PowerPoint slides that resonate with any audience.
