Microsoft PowerPoint offers a wide array of options for background customization. You can choose from a variety of themes, colors, gradients, patterns, and pictures. These options can be accessed under the ‘Design’ tab on the PowerPoint toolbar.
Themes
Themes offer a coordinated set of colors, fonts, and effects that can give your slides a professional and cohesive look. To apply a theme, simply click on the ‘Design’ tab, and choose a theme from the ‘Themes’ group.
Colors
You can also customize your background color by clicking on the ‘Design’ tab, selecting ‘Format Background’, and then choosing ‘Solid fill’. From there, you can select any color from the color palette.
Gradients
Gradient backgrounds, which blend two or more colors together, can make your slides visually striking. This option can be found under the ‘Design’ tab in the ‘Format Background’ box, by choosing ‘Gradient fill’.
Patterns
Patterned backgrounds can add texture to your slides, and can be applied by choosing ‘Pattern fill’ in the ‘Format Background’ box under the ‘Design’ tab. PowerPoint offers a range of patterns, from simple dots and lines to more complex geometrical shapes.
Pictures
If you want to use an image as your background, you can select ‘Picture or texture fill’ in the ‘Format Background’ box, then click on ‘File…’ to choose an image from your computer.
Please note that while PowerPoint offers numerous background options, it’s important to ensure that your chosen background supports the readability and overall impact of your presentation. It should complement your content, not distract from it.
