Setting your PowerPoint presentation to play automatically can be achieved with a few simple steps. This can be especially useful when you want your slides to advance automatically during a presentation, without the need for manual control. Here are the steps to set your PowerPoint presentation to play automatically:
- Open your PowerPoint presentation and click on the “Slide Show” tab in the top menu.
- Select the “Set Up Slide Show” option from the dropdown menu. This will open a dialog box.
- In the dialog box that appears, under the “Show type” section, select “Browsed at a kiosk (full screen)”. This option will ensure that your slides advance automatically, and loop back to the start when they reach the end.
- Next, you need to set the timing for each slide. Go back to the main PowerPoint interface, and select “Transitions” from the top menu.
- Check the box that says “After” under the “Advance Slide” section and specify the amount of time you want each slide to stay on the screen before advancing to the next one.
- Click on “Apply To All” to apply these timing settings to all slides in your presentation.
- Save your presentation. Now, whenever you play your presentation, it will advance automatically based on the timing settings you specified.
Please note that automatic play can be beneficial in some scenarios, such as trade shows or exhibitions where you might not always be present to manually control the presentation. However, for live presentations, manual control often works better as it allows you to pace your presentation based on your audience’s reactions and engagement.
