Speaker notes can be an essential tool when delivering a presentation, providing useful cues and additional information. Making speaker notes visible in PowerPoint can be done in a few simple steps.
- Open the PowerPoint presentation where you want to add speaker notes.
- At the bottom of the screen, you’ll find the ‘Notes’ section. If it’s not visible, go to the ‘View’ tab in the main menu and click on ‘Notes Page’.
- Click inside the ‘Notes’ pane, beneath the slide, to start typing your notes. Repeat the process for each slide you want to add notes to.
Apart from typing, you can also format your notes to make them more readable. You can change the font type, size, color, and more using the tools available in the ‘Notes’ pane. Remember that these notes are not visible to the audience while presenting on a projector or screen.
To view your notes while presenting, you will need to use the ‘Presenter View’. Here’s how:
- Plug in your projector or second monitor.
- Go to the ‘Slide Show’ tab in the main menu.
- Check the ‘Use Presenter View’ box in the ‘Monitors’ group.
- Start your presentation. Your slides will be shown on the projector or screen, while you’ll be able to view your speaker notes on your own screen.
Please note that the ‘Presenter View’ option is only available if you have a projector or a second monitor connected to your computer. If you’re practicing your presentation without a second screen, you can simply scroll through your slides in ‘Normal’ view and read the notes as you go.
