Creating slide animations in Figma can bring your presentations to life and make them more engaging for your audience. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do this:
1. Prepare Your Figma File
Before you start, make sure all your slides are on separate frames and are properly organized. If you have not done this, you can quickly achieve this by selecting all elements on a slide and pressing Alt + Command + G (Mac) or Alt + Ctrl + G (Windows).
2. Create a Prototype
Switch from the Design tab to the Prototype tab at the top right corner of Figma. Click on the frame of your first slide to select it. You should see a circular node appear on the right of the frame. Click and drag this node to the frame you want to animate to.
3. Set Up the Animation
On the right side of the screen, you’ll see an interaction panel. In the Trigger dropdown, select “On Click”. In the Action dropdown, select “Navigate To”. A new Animation dropdown will appear, select “Smart Animate”. This will create a smooth transition between your slides.
4. Repeat the Process
Repeat this process for all the slides you want to animate. You can also create different transitions and animations by experimenting with the various options in the Animation dropdown menu.
5. Preview Your Animation
Once you’ve set up all the animations, you can preview them by clicking on the “Present” button at the top right corner of Figma. This will open a new tab where you can view and interact with your prototype.
Remember that creating effective animations requires practice and experimentation. Don’t be afraid to try different animation styles and see what works best for your presentation.
