Creating Custom Themes in Google Slides
Creating custom themes on Google Slides allows you to give your presentation a unique and consistent look. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to create your own custom theme:
- Open up Google Slides and click on the Blank option to start a new presentation.
- Click on Slide in the main menu, then select Edit Master.
- In the master slide view, you can edit the default slides in the theme. The top slide is the master slide, which controls the global features for all the slides. Below it are different layout slides you can customize.
- Click on the master slide and start customizing. You can change the background color, add a company logo, insert shapes, text boxes, and more. Any changes you make on this slide will appear on all your slides.
- After you’ve customized the master slide, you can start working on the layout slides. You can customize the title slide, the standard slide, and other specific layouts like the ‘two columns text’ layout, ‘caption’ layout, etc.
- Once you’re satisfied with your custom theme, click on the X at the top to exit the master slide view. Your new theme will automatically be applied to your presentation.
Remember, the key to creating a successful custom theme is to maintain consistency throughout your slides, while making sure they align with your brand’s aesthetics.
Using Your Custom Theme
Once you’ve created a custom theme, you can use it for other presentations. Here’s how:
- Open a new presentation in Google Slides.
- Click on Theme in the toolbar.
- In the panel that opens on the right, click on Import Theme.
- Select the presentation that contains your custom theme.
- Click on Select to apply the theme to your new presentation.
And that’s it! Your custom theme will be applied to your new presentation. This way, you can ensure a consistent look and feel across all your presentations, saving you time and effort in the long run.
