Creating a PowerPoint presentation on Microsoft Teams involves a few simple steps. First and foremost, ensure you have both Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint installed on your device. If you don’t already have these, you can download them from the official Microsoft website.
Step 1: Create Your PowerPoint Presentation
Open PowerPoint and create your presentation. Make sure to save it in a location that’s easy for you to access. You’ll need to upload this file to Microsoft Teams later on.
Step 2: Open Microsoft Teams
Once your PowerPoint presentation is ready, open Microsoft Teams. Navigate to the Teams tab on the left-hand side of the screen and select the team you want to share the presentation with. If you want to present to a specific channel within a team, select that channel.
Step 3: Share Your Presentation
In the channel conversation, click on the ‘New Conversation’ button at the bottom of the screen. Click on the ‘Attach’ (paperclip icon) below the compose box, then select ‘Upload from my computer’ if your file is saved locally or ‘OneDrive’ if your presentation is saved on OneDrive. Locate your PowerPoint file, select it, and then click ‘Open’. You can add a message to accompany your file before clicking ‘Send’.
Step 4: Present Your PowerPoint
When you’re ready to present, start a meeting in your team or channel. Click on the ‘Share’ button in the meeting controls and then click on ‘PowerPoint’. Choose your presentation from the list of recent files or browse for your file. Your PowerPoint presentation will then be shared with everyone in the meeting.
Remember, when you’re presenting, you can use the ‘Navigate slides’ option to move through your presentation. If you want others to be able to move through the slides at their own pace, select ‘Allow participants to move through shared presentation independently’.
Creating a PowerPoint presentation on Microsoft Teams is a straightforward process. It allows for easy collaboration and presentation to your team from any location. Happy presenting!
