To allow someone to edit your PowerPoint presentation, you need to share it with them, with editing privileges enabled. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to do it:
Through Microsoft 365:
- Open your PowerPoint presentation in Microsoft 365.
- Click the ‘Share’ button in the upper right corner of the screen.
- In the dialog box that appears, enter the email address of the person you want to share the presentation with.
- Click on the permission level drop-down menu (the default is usually ‘Can Edit’), and make sure ‘Can Edit’ is selected.
- Click on ‘Send’ and the recipient will receive an email with the link to access and edit the presentation.
Through Microsoft PowerPoint Desktop Version:
- Open your PowerPoint presentation.
- Click on ‘File’, then ‘Share’.
- Choose ‘Save to Cloud’ if your file is not already saved in OneDrive or SharePoint.
- Then click ‘Share with People’.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to share the presentation with.
- Make sure ‘Can Edit’ is selected in the drop-down menu next to the email address field.
- Click ‘Share’ and the recipient will receive an email with the link to access and edit the presentation.
Remember, the person you’re sharing with will need the appropriate Microsoft software to edit the presentation. They will either need a Microsoft 365 subscription or the PowerPoint software installed on their computer.
It’s also important to note that changes made by others will be saved automatically. This means you’ll always have the latest version of your presentation.
