How can a PowerPoint designer change colors in a presentation?

Changing the colors in a PowerPoint presentation is a simple process that can have a drastic impact on the appeal and effectiveness of your slides. Here’s how you can do it:

Changing the Colors of Individual Elements

1. Select the element (shape, text, etc.) you want to change the color of by clicking on it.
2. Once selected, go to the “Format” tab on the PowerPoint toolbar.
3. From the “Format” tab, choose the “Shape Fill” or “Text Color” option, depending on what you want to change.
4. A color palette will appear. Select the color you want to apply.
5. If you want a color that isn’t present in the palette, click on “More Colors” at the bottom. Here, you can choose from a wider range of colors, or even enter a custom color code.

Changing the Slide Background Color

1. Right-click on the slide for which you want to change the background color.
2. Select the “Format Background” option from the context menu that appears.
3. A sidebar will appear where you can choose to fill the background with a solid color, gradient, picture, or texture.
4. If you choose the “Solid fill” or “Gradient fill” options, you can pick the color or gradient respectively from the available options.

Changing the Color Scheme of the Entire Presentation

1. Click on the “Design” tab on the PowerPoint toolbar.
2. From the options that appear, click on “Colors”.
3. A dropdown menu will appear with different color schemes. Hover over a scheme to get a preview of how it will look on your slide.
4. Click on a color scheme to apply it to your entire presentation.
5. If you want to create a custom color scheme, click on “Customize Colors” at the bottom of the dropdown menu. Here, you can select colors for different elements of your presentation, such as the background, text, and hyperlinks.
